Name that Verse

Are you old enough to remember “Name that Tune?” This is like the TV show, only with scripture verses. 2 teams battle with 2 people at a time. They go back and forth deciding who can identify a scripture verse in the least amount of words. “(P1)I can do it in 10 words.” “(P2)Well, I can do it in 7.” “(P1)I can do it in 6.” “(P2) Okay, go ahead.” The leader reads the first 6 words of the verse. If the person can recite the entire verse or name the chapter and verse(s), their team gets a point. If not, the other team gets a point.

Take two groups and divide them up. Say a verse reference randomly in the Bible and have one minute in each team to converse and have one spokesperson stand up and say the verse and keep score and after a couple of rounds whoever has the most points wins!
[Ed. Note: Perhaps not great if you have a lot of unchurched kids who wouldn’t have a clue about the Bible. A suggestion, if you do play it: if there are no correct guesses, you could do a “I can name that verse in 3 words…” kind of game where you keep giving them words until someone guesses the whole thing.]
